Brief History
Karen S. Thomason is a Texas native who grew up in the FM 1960 area. Opening 1960 West Chiropractic was a longtime dream realized after years of work and study in both psychology and physiology.
Because of her strong love of people, Dr. Thomason chose to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Masters of Social Work, both from the University of Houston, and then went to work for Ben Taub Hospital. But, she aspired to more.
As a child who suffered from scoliosis, she spent years receiving chiropractic care. She took for granted her extensive knowledge of the manipulation and exercises used to ease her pain and address her condition, until she was receiving treatment one day. She recognized the great benefit chiropractic treatment offered to patients suffering from such painful conditions and decided to make a career move.
With her background in the Sciences, entry into the program at Texas Chiropractic College was simple and quickly completed. She was licensed in 1982, began an associates practice, and then opened her own practice in 1987.
“I love being a doctor of Chiropractic. And I have loved it for the past 20 years. It has allowed me to serve others and to help them heal. I cannot imagine doing anything else.
“Suffering from scoliosis since childhood, I was definitely a success story, which continues to this day through monthly treatment. My mission is to provide each of my patients with professional diagnostic assessment and therapy protocols in order to begin their journey to a more pain-free life.”
